The Project
Dry Riser Experts were recently appointed to inspect, repair, and test four dry riser systems within a multi-storey car park in Birmingham.
The systems had been out of service for an extended period and were no longer compliant with current fire safety requirements. Due to several faults and damaged components, the dry risers could not be relied upon in the event of an emergency, creating a significant fire safety concern for the building owners.

Our Assessment
Following a full inspection of the systems, our engineers identified a number of issues that were preventing the dry risers from operating correctly.
The main defects included:
Four faulty dry riser valves requiring replacement
Three damaged and deteriorated dry riser cabinets
General wear and deterioration across key system components
The systems failing to meet the required testing standards
Our priority was to bring all four dry risers back into full working order as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The Solution
Working closely with the client, we carried out all necessary remedial works to restore the systems.
The project included:
Replacement of four dry riser valves
Installation of three new dry riser cabinets
Inspection and servicing of associated components
Full pressure testing of all four dry riser systems
Final compliance checks and certification
All work was completed by our experienced engineers in accordance with current British Standards and industry best practices.
The Result
Following completion of the repairs and testing, all four dry riser systems successfully passed their pressure tests and were returned to full operational status.
The outcome delivered:
Four fully functional dry riser systems
Full compliance with current fire safety requirements
Improved reliability and emergency readiness
Increased confidence for the building owners and occupants
Certification confirming the systems were fit for service
What was previously a non-operational fire safety system is now fully live, compliant, and ready for use should the fire service ever need it.
