Fire Hydrants
What is a Fire Hydrant?
Fire hydrants provide a constant supply of water as they are connected to the Towns water mains. They are usually used by the fire fighters to fill the Fire appliance to pump water onto the source of a fire. Following the BS 9990:2015 code of practice, Fire hydrants will require flow and pressure tests annually to ensure they function and prerform to specification. This together with signage checks and pit condition reporting will ensure a compliant Hydrant.
