Wet Risers

What is a Wet Riser system?

A wet riser is a system of pipework that is permanently charged with water and typically installed in buildings over a certain height. It allows the fire brigade to connect hoses on each floor, ensuring rapid access to water in the event of a fire.

Because wet risers are constantly full of water, they require routine inspection and testing to prevent issues such as corrosion, leaks, pressure loss, or valve failure.
